Pandharpur is not a common piece of land. It is popularly known as "South Kashi" of India and also considered as "Spiritual Capital" of Maharashtra. It's an epicenter of inspiration to lakhs of people throughout the country. Lord Vitthal, the incarnation of Vishnu- Shrikrishna - had appeared here in Pandharpur. Shrikrishna is held in Hindu mythology as the complete symbol of devotion to the work. A Karmayogi, who taught that only the devotion to the duty is the final answer to any difficulty. Getting pleased with the devotion of Pundlik towards his duty of taking care of his parents, Lord Vitthal appeared at Pundlik's doorsteps. Pundlik preferred to stick up to his duty and made Lord Vitthal to wait. It is believed that the Lord Vitthal was pleased with this and is still gladly waiting here.

Whenever synergy of young, enthusiastic, sincere, qualified and experienced patriots is created, the institutions of monumental nature come into existence. Shri Vithal Education & Research Institute (SVERI) is a excellent example of this.
SVERI, a Charitable Trust, embarked on its first ambitious project and established Engineering, College at Pandharpur with approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Government of Maharashtra. The Engineering College is an A grade institution accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), An ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution and is accredited by the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata.
To continue with the developmental process. SVERI has started B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy courses from the academic year 2006-07 and Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) from the academic year 2008-09.

College of Engineering (Polytechnic), Pandharpur is established in 2008 for provided diploma level education for rural area students nearby pandharpur. And with approval from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and Govt. of Maharashtra. Also affiliated by MSBTE, Mumbai. College of Engineering (Polytechnic), Pandharpur offers six engineering courses as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering of total 420 intake.
